5 K RUN/WALK TOMORROW — Sunday, September 23, starts at 8:00 a.m. at the Adelphian Junior Academy parking lot and will circle through the subdivisions — a very low traffic area. The race/walk is sponsored by AJA and the Holly church as part of Adventist denomination’s “Let’s Move Day”. AJA’s goal is 80% of students and their families participating. The Adventist denomination goal is to get as many people as possible involved. Plan to join us – get your exercise and be a part of helping to reach the goals.
Seventh-day Adventist marathon runner Abel Kirui won the silver medal at the 2012 London Olympic Games. When he crossed the finish line the went down to his knees and prayed.

Up to this point, Kirui hasn’t had conflicts with his observance of the Sabbath, since marathons are usually held on Sundays. He also says that wherever he goes to compete, he goes with his Bible, his Sabbath School quarterly, and makes sure to take time to pray.
He has plans to help the Adventist infrastructure in Kenya which include churches, schools and a hospital.
Kirui says of those who now recognize him “I want them to know that it is the power of God that keeps me running. All the time, the power of God.”

Pacific Union College (PUC) got the top spot of most beautiful college in the United States. Aside from other categories like Best Party School, Most/Least Rigorous, there were Most Liberal and Conservative.
Southern Adventist University (SAU) ranked 14th in the top 25 most conservatives schools in the US.
